Shivarajkumar, who shared screen space with Rajinikanth in 'Jailer', will be reprising his role as Narasimha in the blockbuster film’s sequel.
Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar has joined the sets of Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 in Chennai. In clips circulating on X, the actor is seen clicking selfies with fans at the sets. His role as Narasimha in the first part, that of a gangster from South Kartanaka, was among the most celebrated moments in the first film. The sequel is being directed by Nelson and is expected to be competed later this year.
Produced by Sun Pictures, Jailer 2 looks to be a continuation of the storyline from the first part, which also starred Ramya Krishnan, Vinayakan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Vasanth Ravi and Yogi Babu. Notably, actors Mohanlal and Shivarajkumar appeared in much-hyped cameos.
Music composer Anirudh Ravichander is on board for Jailer 2, and appears in a hilarious project announcement video with Nelson. The rest of the cast and crew will be announced shortly.
Jailer (2023) followed the life of a retired jailer, Muthuvel Pandian, who tries to find his missing son and ends up crossing paths with an eccentric idol smuggler named Varman. The action-comedy became a blockbuster and the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2023.
In December last year, we reported that Shivarajkumar was recovering well after undergoing surgery in the US to remove a cancerous bladder. According to a statement issued by his family and the doctor, the 62-year-old actor is currently stable. Under the care of Dr Murugesh Manoharan, the procedure involved removing the actor’s cancerous bladder at the Miami Cancer Institute in Florida, USA. The doctor confirmed the news of his recovery in a video statement, noting how Shivarajkumar was expected to "recover very quickly and get back to normalcy within a few weeks."

In Kannada, the first look of Shivarajkumar from his upcoming film 666 Operation Dream Theatre recently went viral. "Unveiling The First Look Of @NimmaShivanna from my next #666OperationDreamTheatre. #King #666ODT," wrote Hemanth M Rao, the director of the film.
