'Kantara: Chapter 1' Not Pushed From its October 2 Release; Makers Say 'Right On Track, Avoid Speculation'
'Kantara: Chapter 1' is in its final shooting phase, with an epic war sequence underway, featuring an impressive 500 skilled fighters and 3000 extras.
Is actor-director Rishab Shetty's highly anticipated Kantara: Chapter 1 getting pushed from its original October 2 release date this year? While unconfirmed reports emerged on Thursday evening that the makers were running behind schedule and will miss the big release date, the team has rubbished the rumours, reiterating their grand Gandhi Jayanti opening.
Kantara was a sensation upon its release in 2022. Its sequel, Kantara: Chapter 1, was announced later, and the film went into production, locking its release date. Now, the official account of the film took to X and wrote Kantara: Chapter 1 is progressing smoothly as planned.
"We’re right on track, and everything is progressing as planned. #KantaraChapter1 will release in theatres worldwide on October 2, 2025. Trust us, it’ll be worth the wait. We kindly urge everyone to avoid speculation and refrain from sharing unverified updates," the update read.
According to the makers, Kantara: Chapter 1, backed by Hombale Films, has finally entered its final leg of shooting. The makers have curated an "extensive war sequence", hiring over 500 skilled fighters and featuring 3000 people.
For the said sequence, which was shot in the mountains of Karnataka, Shetty underwent a 3-month-long extensive training where he mastered the art of horse riding, Kalaripayattu, and sword fighting.
