'Karam' Trailer: Vineeth Sreenivasan's Next Is A Gritty Actioner With Noble Babu Thomas

The Malayalam film will be released on September 25.

After a string of characteristic feel-good films such as Hridayam (2022) and Varshangallku Shesham (2024), filmmaker Vineeth Sreenivasan will be testing the waters with a gripping action film, Karam, 12 years after his neo-noir crime thriller Thira (2013).

The film, which is led by producer-turned-actor Noble Babu Thomas, is produced by Visakh Subramaniam and Vineeth Sreenivasan, with a script by Thomas. The film's trailer was launched recently, giving fans a glimpse at a charged conflict between militants and the army-level officers, trying their best to diffuse a precarious situation. The film, co-starring Manoj K Jayan, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Johny Antony, Baburaj, and Reshma Sebastian, will be released on September 25. It has music by Shaan Rahman and camerawork by Jomon T John ISC.

Noble Babu Thomas, who has produced films such as Jacobinte Swargarajyam (2016) and Helen (2019), has acted in films such as Helen, Hridayam, and Mukundan Unni Associates (2022).

Sreenivasan last directed Varshangallku Shesham, a music-laced friendship drama co-starring Dhyan Sreenivasan and Pranav Mohanlal. Mohanlal is now gearing up for his next big project, a horror thriller titled NSS2, following Varshangalkku Shesham. Helmed by acclaimed director Rahul Sadasivan, known for Bramayugam and Bhoothakaalam, the film is already generating buzz online.

The screenplay is penned by the director himself, ensuring that his signature style of atmospheric tension remains intact. The art direction is led by Jyotish Shankar, while editing duties are handled by Shafique Mohammed Ali. The film’s eerie soundscape will be crafted by sound designer Jayadevan Chakkadath and mixed by Rajakrishnan M.R.

With NSS2, Pranav Mohanlal is stepping into a genre that has seen growing appreciation among Indian audiences. With its stellar cast and crew, the film is poised to become one of the most anticipated horror thrillers of 2025. The film reportedly wrapped up filming by the end of April.
