Karthi To Join Mohan Raja For Director's 11th Film

Director Mohan Raja took to social media to announce his newest lead — actor Karthi. The two will work together on the director's 11th directorial, and Prince Pictures will be producing the project.

The announcement was made on August 3 on the director's X account. The post read, "By the blessings of my parents, my family, and all your love, I’ve always been showered with good work. Now, my 11th directorial in the 25th year of my career becomes even more special — as I join hands with my dear brother, Karthi. Produced by Prince Pictures. And to my audience once again: I have no words to thank you for always standing by me. Please bless me in this journey too," he said.

Prince Pictures, the banner producing the project, has an existing working relationship with both parties. The production house is currently producing Sardar 2, the sequel to Karthi's 2022 spy action thriller Sardar, directed by P.S. Mithran.

Plot details of the film are yet to be known, though reports suggest the film is set to be a family entertainer.

Mohan Raja is known for directing Thani Oruvan (2015), a Tamil action cop-drama, Velaikkaran (2017), and Godfather (2022), a Telugu political action thriller starring Chiranjeevi, which was a remake of the Malayalam film Lucifer (2019).

Karthi's notable films include Paruthiveeran (2007), Paiyaa (2010), Madras (2014), Kaithi (2019) and Sulthan (2021). His most recent release was Vaa Vaathiyaar (2026), directed by Nalan Kumarasamy and co-starring Krithi Shetty, which was eleased on January 14, 2026. His upcoming projects include Sardar 2 and Marshal. Marshal, co-starring Kalyani Priyadarshan, is currently in production. He also has Kaithi 2 in development, the sequel to his 2019 breakout film directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.

The new Karthi-Mohan Raja project is expected to go on floors by the end of 2026. No title, cast, plot details or shoot schedule has been disclosed beyond the initial announcement.
