'Kingdom' Teaser: Vijay Deverakonda Threatens to Burn the World Down
Directed by 'Jersey' filmmaker Gowtam Tinnanuri, 'Kingdom' marks Vijay Deverakonda's 12th film.
Actor Vijay Deverakonda is ready to unleash the warrior within as he launched the teaser of his latest action-thriller Kingdom. The film marks Deverakonda's 12th project.
Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, who helmed Nani's 2019 drama Jersey (as well as its Hindi remake headlined by Shahid Kapoor), Kingdom will have a worldwide release on May 30.
The teaser, with a powerful background score by Anirudh Ravichander, sets the world of the film amidst war and deaths. A voice-over—Jr NTR in Telugu, Suriya in Tamil and Ranbir Kapoor in the Hindi version— narrates the birth of a hero.
The actor took to X and shared the teaser, writing, "This is 'Kingdom'. Questions. Mistakes. Bloodshed. Destiny."
While the teaser doesn't reveal much, Kingdom seems to be set in two different timelines. It gives Deverakonda a heroic entry as he protects himself with a police shield and later, when he is in prison with inmates cheering around him.
The teaser ends with Deverakonda saying, "I will do whatever it takes; if needed, I will also burn the world down." The Hindi version of the film is titled Saamraajya.
The film has been produced by Naga Vamsi S and Sai Soujanya Under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune 4 Cinemas Banner.
The actor was last seen in The Family Star, opposite Mrunal Thakur, and Kalki 2898 AD, which featured him in a cameo.
