He also said that Mammootty had not only agreed to act in the movie but that he would also produce it under his production company, Mammootty Kampany. Addressing fans in a series of tweets, Singh expressed his gratitude for the support he has received over the years. “Hello, Happy new year to all. I want to thank you all for giving me so much of love all these years as listeners,” he said, before confirming the decision: “I am happy to announce that l am not gonna be taking any new assignments as a playback vocalist from now on. I am calling it off. It was a wonderful journey.”

Singh stressed that the move was not impulsive but something that he’d been contemplating for a while. “There is not one reason behind this, there are several reasons plus I have been trying to do this since a long time. Finally I have gathered the right courage,” he explained. 

Among those reasons, he cited creative boredom and restlessness as his primary drivers. “I get bored pretty quick, that's why I keep changing arrangements of the same songs and perform them on stage. So here is the thing, I got bored. I need to do some other music to live.”

Singh clarified that retirement from playback singing does not mean an end to his musical output. “Just to be clear that I wont stop making music,” he said, signalling a shift rather than a withdrawal. He also confirmed that he will honour existing professional obligations. “I still have to finish some pending commitments will finish them. So you might get some releases this year.”

In a remarkable career spanning nearly two decades, Singh’s voice became synonymous with modern longing, and he went on to dominate soundtracks across languages and genres. According to online data, he has recorded 715 songs across Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu and other languages. He also built a significant touring career with sold-out live shows in India and abroad, and collaborated with international artists like Ed Sheeran and Martin Garrix.

Since 2018, actors such as Sri Reddy have been outspoken about the solicitation of sexual favours in exchange for opportunities. Chiranjeevi’s comments have come amid a rising tide of women speaking up against harassment in the Telugu film industry, and have led to significant backlash online. 

Singer Chinmayi Sripada fired back, writing that the casting couch phenomenon is “rampant”, and that women often lose out on roles if they refuse to concede to such demands. 

“Men remain in positions where they believe they are entitled to, and WILL demand and expect sexual favours from women,” she wrote on X, citing anonymous examples of industry insiders who have been known to harass female talent.

She went on to address Chiranjeevi’s comments directly, explaining that he is accustomed to working in a different era, where the industry treated one another like family.

“Legendary Chiranjeevi garu comes from a generation where they all were friends or even family friends with their female co-artistes, mutually respected each other, worked with legends, and they are all legends themselves,” she added.

Denouncing his comments ‘blaming’ women for their ‘bitter experiences’, the singer ended her response by saying: “Men believing they are OWED sex in return for giving work are the problem.”

It was also stated that the comedy feature will have "high-octane action", along with a massive ensemble cast of over 30 actors. The release date announcement comes a year after it was reported that the makers of the film halted its production due to financial troubles.

There were reports back then that some actors were contemplating quitting when the shoot was cancelled for the third time, disrupting the shooting timeline for such a large ensemble. The schedule was back on track later.

The film starred Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Anil Kapoor, Paresh Rawal and Nana Patekar.

When asked about the release dates, Jeethu Joseph told Reporter TV, “There is no confusion any longer. We have decided to release 

 in Malayalam on April 2, and the Hindi version will now release on October 2.”

He spoke about earlier discussions related to changes in both versions

 and he added that the producers of the Hindi version had asked if they could alter the script of the third film to suit the changes they had already made in the earlier two films. Jeethu said he had agreed to this, given how they were at liberty to make these changes anyway, if the remake rights were sold in the first place.

He also added that the makers of the Hindi version, Panorama Pictures, had now bought even the Malayalam version outright. He said, “Instead of just the remake rights, they decided to buy the entire Malayalam film outright. When they contacted us, they began by speaking to Antony Perumbavoor (of Aashirwad Cinemas). He spoke to them and told me that Panorama had come forward to buy the films for a price that was truly shocking for Antony.” Reports suggest the amount the film was purchased for stood among the highest in the industry.

The film completed its shoot on December 2 in Kerala. Producer of 

, M Ranjith, spoke at an event and said that the close in figures for the pre-sales of 

wrapped filming last month and is now in post-production.
