'L2: Empuraan' Trailer: Mohanlal is The Messiah Again in 'Lucifer' Sequel

As anticipated, the plot of the film centers around Mohanlal’s character of Stephen Nedumpally, and his mysterious identity. The trailer also showcases glimpses of the packed ensemble cast that includes the likes of Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Indrajith Sukumaran, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Jerome Flynn, Eriq Ebouaney and Andrea Tivadar. Prithviraj Sukumaran also reprises his role as Zayed Masood from Lucifer.
The action-packed trailer also features everything from drug cartels and political power plays, interspersed with several action sequences.
The film is jointly produced by Aashirvad Cinemas and Lyca Productions, and Empuraan will also become the first film from the Malayalam film industry to release in the IMAX format.

Director Prithviraj announced the news earlier in the week, with a post on social media: "It gives us immense pride to announce that #L2E #Empuraan will be the first ever film from the Malayalam cinema industry to release on IMAX. We hope this is the beginning of a long and illustrious association between IMAX and Malayalam Cinema."
Written by Murali Gopy, the film has cinematographer Sujith Vaassudev and composer Deepak Dev on board, while Akhilesh Mohan is the editor.
The second instalment of a planned trilogy, Empuraan will be released in Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi, Telugu and Kannada.
