The slate also includes two new originals, 'Shakti Shalini' and 'Chamunda'
Several monsters and ghosts are queuing up for grand cinematic outings over the next four years as production house Maddock Films has announced a line-up of eight new films as part of its horror-comedy universe.
The slate includes highly-anticipated sequels like Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor's Stree 3, Varun Dhawan's Bhediya 2, as well as Mahamunjya, the second instalment of last year's surprise hit starring Abhay Verma and Sharvari.
The horror-comedy universe will culminate with an Avengers: Endgame-like finale, with a two-part epic multiverse showdown titled Pehla Mahayudh and Doosara Mahayudh.
The slate also includes two new originals, Shakti Shalini, set to release on December 31 this year, and Chamunda, which will hit the screens on December 4, 2026. Details about the projects, including its cast and directors, have been kept under wraps.
Here is the full timeline of what's coming next in the horror universe: Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna's Thama (Diwali 2025), Shakti Shalini (December 31), Bhediya 2 (August 14, 2026), Chamunda (December 4, 2026), Stree 3 (August 13, 2027), Mahamunjya (December 24, 2027) and Pehla Mahayudh on August 11, 2028, followed by Doosara Mahayudh on October 18, 2028.
Maddock Films' Dinesh Vijan said, "We've crafted compelling characters that resonate with audiences, grounded in India's rich culture and heritage. This deep connection has made our stories not just relatable, but also meaningful. Also, with a passionate and devoted fanbase, we’re now setting the stage for something even bigger: a cinematic universe that brings unforgettable characters and their stories to life like never before. We can’t wait to take audiences on this journey through 2028 and beyond, and we are just getting started."
Maddock Films pioneered the horror-comedy genre in the country with the 2018 blockbuster Stree. The film's sequel, Stree 2, was released last year and emerged as the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time, beating Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan.
