The film also stars Nushrat Bharuccha, Saqib Saleem, Akshay Oberoi, Divya Dutta and Shraddha Das.
A lot will unfold over the course of a single night as Manoj Bajpayee promises to lead viewers on a tense, fast-paced ride with his latest film, Ghooshkhor Pandat. Billed as a gritty thriller, the Netflix release is backed by Neeraj Pandey and also stars Nushrat Bharuccha, Saqib Saleem, Akshay Oberoi, Divya Dutta and Shraddha Das.
According to the official synopsis, a bent police officer Ajay Dikshit's (Pandat) eventful and money-making night are disrupted as he finds himself in the midst of a global conspiracy while trying to unravel the identity of a badly injured girl thrown out of a moving car in the heart of Delhi.
The film is directed by Ritesh Shah, who has also written it with Pandey. The first look teaser of the film glimpses Bajpayee in his character as a voiceover begins, "He is married but a philanderer. His service record is also very bad. He was recruited as an SI 20 years ago, but he's right back to where he started. He is not from Delhi, but is still posted in Delhi."
According to the team, Ghooskhor Pandat is a one-night thriller that follows the corrupt and morally bankrupt police officer Ajay Dikshit, as an unexpected encounter disrupts his plans and draws him into a chain of events far larger than anticipated.
"Set in Delhi and unfolding over the course of a single night, the film is driven by a situation wherein a girl is thrown out of a moving car, and the cop accompanies the injured girl to the hospital, leading to the unfolding of multiple situations. Led by Manoj Bajpayee, Ghooskhor Pandat allows the story to unfold through action and setting. We thank Netflix for partnering with us and for providing a platform for the film to reach audiences worldwide," read a joint statement from the team.
The streamer is yet to announce a release date for the film.
