The first look for 'Irumudi'

To mark his birthday, actor Ravi Teja unveiled the title and a striking first look for his highly anticipated film, Irumudi, garnering praise from fans.

The poster shows him leading a celebratory procession, with Teja dressed as an Ayyappa devotee, holding his daughter in one arm, and carrying the sacred Irumudi over his head with the other. The girl is also seen laughing and holding a mic in front of Teja, as priests shower them with flowers. The word ‘Irumudi’ signifies the travelling kit carried by devotees undertaking the holy pilgrimage to the Sabarimala Temple. Traditionally, only devotees who observe a fast for 41 days are permitted to carry it over their heads. The reveal hints at a father-daughter relationship at the heart of the story, and heralds a new era for Teja.

The first look at the film has already generated a strong buzz and is being hailed as a massive comeback for Teja. The film is said to be a departure from his previous work, with the actor portraying a fresh, emotionally focused role. Helmed by Shiva Nirvana and the King of Action Comedies himself, Irumudi promises a culturally resonant family drama.

The actor expressed his excitement in an announcement on social media: “Some stories choose you at the right moment in life. Feeling blessed to be part of one such story again, letting belief lead the way. Excited to begin this new journey called #Irumudi with @ShivaNirvana621 & @MythriOfficial.”

Composer G.V. Prakash Kumar also took to social media, praising the script as a "sure-shot film" and a game changer in commercial cinema.

Irumudi is being produced under the Mythri Movie Makers banner, and is being directed by Shiva Nirvana, marking his first collaboration with Teja. The film will also star Priya Bhavani Shankar opposite Teja, and Baby Nakshathra as his daughter. The cast will also feature actors Sai Kumar, Ajay Ghosh, Ramesh Indira, and Swasika in key roles.
