While there's no clarity on its rescheduled date, it was reported that the Madras High Court ordered to put a stay on its screening following an appeal filed by Eros International Media Limited. Directed by Boyapati Sreenu, the film co-stars Samyuktha Menon, Kabir Singh and Aadhi Pinisetty. The film is a sequel to the 2021 film of the same name. The film's trailer suggested a spiritual war to counter evil.

In the almost 3-minute-long trailer, Balakrishna plays a dual role, in which one of them gives a discourse about Sanatana Dharma and why he's going to do a 'Surgical strike' to fight off evil. The trailer, which hints at a good vs. evil battle, also features Pinisetty as the antagonist who wants to crush the belief of people's faith in God. Akhanda 2 will be released on December 5 and has music by Thaman. It is co-produced by Raam Achanta and Gopi Achanta. The film will be released in languages including Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.
