The story follows DSP Ridwaan Sayyed, played by Manav Kaul, a recently transferred Kashmiri police officer investigating the mysterious disappearance of children in the town of Baramulla. As Ridwaan and his family move into an old house in the valley, they confront secrets and tensions that intertwine the personal with the supernatural, revealing the fragile equilibrium of the town. Bhasha Sumbli co-stars as Gulnaar, adding further depth to the ensemble.

Baramulla is the latest collaboration between Netflix, B62 Studios, and Jio Studios, following the rom-com Dhoom Dhaam. Jambhale, who also wrote the screenplay alongside Monal Thaakar, previously directed Article 370, and the film continues his exploration of stories rooted in regional realities elevated by dramatic tension.

“With a genre-bending film like Baramulla, we wanted to tell a story rooted in emotion but elevated by tension and the supernatural,” Jambhale said. “Kashmir is not just the setting; it’s a living, breathing character that shapes every moment and every mystery.” Ruchikaa Kapoor Sheikh, Director of Original Films, Netflix India, added that the film “pushes boundaries—narratives that surprise, challenge, and leave a lasting impression on audiences.”

Producers Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar, and Lokesh Dhar described the project as “thrilling, emotional, and unconventional,” emphasizing that it explores a genre rarely attempted in Indian cinema.

Set in Kashmir, Baramulla promises a suspenseful, emotionally resonant experience. The film will be available to stream worldwide on Netflix starting November 7, 2025.
