Netflix has released the first look of Unaccustomed Earth, an upcoming series adaptation of Jhumpa Lahiri's short story collection of the same name. The family drama starring Freida Pinto and Siddharth in the lead roles is produced by Warner Bros. Television and is confirmed for a December 17, 2026 premiere on the streaming platform.

Led by Pinto as Parul Chaudhury and Siddharth as Amith, the series follows Parul, a wife and mother who gave up a college romance to honour her father's wishes. After a cancer diagnosis, in an attempt to go back to the place she most felt at home, Parul moves her family from India to Cambridge, Massachusetts and makes a series of choices that affect her the lives of her family members while changing the roots of immigrant community living for the long run.
