Netflix’s upcoming series Dabba Cartel is set to premiere on February 28, marking a new collaboration between the streaming giant and Excel Entertainment, founded by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar. The series follows five middle-class women whose lives take an unexpected turn when their home-run dabba (lunchbox) service evolves into an illicit drug distribution network. As the women navigate the dangers of the cartel world, a pharmaceutical company, Viva Life, becomes embroiled in an investigation linking its employees to the illegal drug trade.

Dabba Cartel boasts a strong ensemble cast, featuring Shabana Azmi, Gajraj Rao, Jyotika, Nimisha Sajayan, Shalini Pandey, Anjali Anand, Sai Tamhankar, Jisshu Sengupta, Lillete Dubey, and Bhupendra Singh Jadawat.

Producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar expressed their enthusiasm about the project, highlighting its unique premise and layered storytelling. “Dabba Cartel marks an exciting new chapter for us as we collaborate with Netflix. This series is a dramatic tale of five everyday middle-class women reluctantly starting a drug cartel that ends up colliding with a massive pharma scandal that is under investigation. At Excel, we always try to tell stories that push creative boundaries, and Dabba Cartel is a perfect reflection of that vision. We are thrilled to embark on this journey with Netflix and can’t wait for audiences worldwide to experience this compelling and dynamic narrative,” they said in a statement.

The series will be available for streaming on Netflix from February 28.
