'OG' Director Sujeeth Denies Rift With His Producer
The filmmaker posted a long note on X, thanking his producer for all the constant support.
In a personal note, released on X, director-writer Sujeeth, who made the recently released hit Telugu film OG, cleared the air about rumours regarding a falling out with OG’s producer D. V. V. Danayya.
On the note, he writes, “A lot is being said, but very few truly understand what it takes to carry a film from start to finish. The belief and strength my producer and team showed for OG can't be put into words. That's what gives this film its strength today. It hasn't been easy for anyone, but every bit of effort came from a place of commitment. Let's keep the process respected. The love and madness shown by fans for Pawan Kalyan garu & OG make it all feel meaningful. Grateful to Danayya garu for his constant support and belief.”
The film, which was released in late September, had already collected ₹300 crore. The film is said to have undergone several delays. Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan recently confirmed plans for a prequel and sequel to his latest hit. The actor reportedly confirmed this at a recent success meet for the film.
"It is easy to write a story, but it is difficult to bring it to life on screen. In fact, I was not aware of the full 'OG' story initially. I met Trivikram and Sujeeth after he mentioned his name. Sujeeth told me, 'You will be gangster in a Japanese attire, holding a sword and carrying a gun'. I did not fully understand the story at that time but when I saw my son reading the notes with joy, I realised that this story is relevant for this generation," he said at the event, as quoted by India Today. The actor added that the film's success renewed his enthusiasm for cinema. The actor-politician is also the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
