Ustaad Bhagat Singh, Pawan Kalyan's upcoming film with director Harish Shankar S, is set to go on floors soon. The producers of the film, Mythri Movie Makers, made the announcement on X recently.
"Get ready to celebrate the best of POWERSTAR #UstaadBhagatSingh - Written & directed by @harish2you. This one will be remembered and celebrated for many years. Shoot begins soon," the post read.
The film, which co-stars Sreeleela, has been in the making for quite some time. The film was recently speculated to be shelved, but the producers clarified its release status. According to a recent report, the producer of the film dispelled these rumours in a press meet. "Harish Shankar garu has locked the script. It’s extraordinary. We are waiting for Kalyan garu to give us dates for it. We will wrap it up this year and release it next year at any cost," he reportedly said.
Ustaad Bhagat Singh was initially announced to be a remake of Atlee and Vijay's Tamil cop actioner Theri. The 2016 film followed the life of Joseph Kuruvilla, a bakery owner with a young daughter, who is forced to revisit his tough past. But according to reports, the writer-director has now revived the script, and the film will not be a remake.
