'Pushpa' Composer Devi Sri Prasad To Play the Lead In 'Yellamma': Reports
The new film is said to have a rural setting with the theme taking on religious and spiritual practises that take place in villages
Music composer Devi Sri Prasad or DSP will debut as the hero in the upcoming Telugu film Yellamma, reports stated. Keerthy Suresh was earlier attached to play the female lead in the film directed by Venu Yeldandi. The reports also suggest that Dil Raju will produce the film.
The new film is said to have a rural setting with the theme taking on religious and spiritual practises that take place in villages. Keerthy Suresh is also the lead in Dil Raju’s recently launched Vijay Deverakonda film Rowdy Janardhana. Yellamma will be directed by actor-turned-director Venu Yeldandi, who made an impressive debut as a director with Balagam.
In November last year, a video from the Pushpa 2 event during which the song 'Kissik' was launched showed Allu Arjun smiling when DSP began his speech, but soon getting awkward as the composer started addressing private issues in public.
When DSP began speaking in Tamil, a section of the fans requested him to speak in Telugu, to which the composer said, "My dear brothers, whatever you're doing is right. If we want anything, we need to ask and get it. If you don't ask, they won't give; whether it's the payment from producers or the credit on screen."
The composer then addressed Ravi Shankar and said, "You've been blaming me saying that I didn't deliver the song or the background score on time. I know you love me. Where there is love, there are complaints as well. But I think you have more complaints on me than love!"
"Even now, I came to the venue 20 to 25 minutes ago. They asked me to wait to make an entry for the camera. I am shy. I am shameless only when I'm on stage. Off-stage, I'm the most shy person you can meet. I could hear the song 'Kissik' being played, so I came running. As soon as I arrived, you said, 'Wrong timing, sir. You're late'. What can I do?"
