Actor-producer Rana Daggubati will present Praveena Paruchuri's directorial debut Kothapallilo Okappudu. "Presenting #KothapalliloOkappudu - Oka chakkati light-hearted satire! A feel-good ride with a thoughtful twist that happened once upon a time in Kothapalli!" Daggubati wrote on X, captioning a poster of the film. The satire will be presented under Daggubati's Spirit Media banner.

"The film follows a village youth whose life takes an unexpected turn after a seemingly minor incident. What begins as a small twist of fate spirals into chaos, as local folklore, village mischief, and time-honoured traditions push him to the brink—culminating in a series of consequences neither he nor his community sees coming," an official press note of the film read. "The film celebrates the spirit of classic Telugu cinema while offering a contemporary take on how small village moments spiral into larger-than-life drama," the note elaborated.

Paruchuri, who had a small appearance in Venkatesh Maha's C/o Kancharapalem (2018), was also the producer of the film (Daggubati was also the distributor of Maha's hit Telugu film). Her last production was Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya (2020). The film's crew includes LA-based Petros Antoniadis on the camerawork and popular composer Mani Sharma on music. Kothapallilo Okappudu will be headed for a theatrical release, according to the announcement.

Daggubati has presented films such as Keedaa Cola (2023), Pareshan (2023), and 35 (2025) recently. The actor was last seen in the new season of Rana Naidu, which was out on Netflix earlier in June. Directed by Karan Anshuman, Suparn S Varma, and Abhay Chopra, the Netflix original is produced by Sunder Aaron and revolves around Rana's fixer-upper, who navigates personal and professional problems, along with his father (played by Daggubati Venkatesh) and wife Naina (Surveen Chawla). The series also co-stars Arjun Rampal, Kriti Kharbanda, Sushant Singh, Abhishek Banerjee, and Dino Morea.
