'Ranabaali': Arnold Vosloo Joins Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna's Period Drama

South African and American actor Arnold Vosloo will join the team of Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna's Ranabaali. The actor, who is best known for his role as Imhotep in The Mummy (1999) and The Mummy Returns (2001), will play Sir Theodore Hector, an antagonist and a possible British General, in the upcoming Telugu film.

Apart from Deverakonda, the film also stars Rashmika Mandanna. Rahul Sankrityan is the director, and the film is being written by Pramod Tammineni. Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar are producers. It is being shot by Nirav Shah, edited by Karthik Srinivas R and the music of the period historical drama is Ajay Atul. The film will also be released in four other versions, including Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. It is expected to get a grand release on September 11 of this year. 

On Republic Day, actor Vijay Deverakonda put out a launch video announcing Ranabaali. The film is the story of a “Savage” who stood up against the British. This short video, released by the actor, shows the history of violence that was taking place in India in the 19th century, which is said to have killed “100 million people in 40 years", detailing the “45 Trillion Dollars Stolen From India”.

Vijay Deverakonda was last seen in Gowtam Tinnanuri's action drama Kingdom(2025), while Rashmika Mandanna was seen in Rahul Ravindran's relationship drama The Girlfriend (2025), both Telugu films that were released last year. Mandanna will next be seen in Cocktail 2, alongside Kriti Sanon and Shahid Kapoor.
