Randeep Hooda Joins John Cena For Action Film 'Matchbox'; Begins Shoot In Budapest
This is Randeep Hooda's second collaboration with director Sam Hargrave after their 2020 actioner 'Extraction'.
Actor Randeep Hooda has begun his next Hollywood adventure, filmmaker Sam Hargrave's adrenaline-pumping action film Matchbox, headlined by John Cena.
This is Hooda's second collaboration with Hargrave after the 2020 actioner Extraction, which starred Chris Hemsworth and was backed by Joe Russo and Anthony Russo.
Hooda, who began filming the project in Budapest, shared that he was excited to reunite with the director. "We had a great time on our first collaboration with Extraction. Sam is a master of high-octane storytelling and action. Glad to be joining the team in Budapest," the actor said in a statement.

Matchbox, the upcoming Apple Original feature, is produced by Skydance and Mattel Films. The movie is based on Mattel’s iconic toy vehicle line.
Hargrave is known for directing the two installments of Extraction and being the stunt co-ordinator on Avengers: Endgame (2019), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Suicide Squad (2016) among others.
On the work front in India, Hooda will also be seen in Sunny Deol's Jaat, directed by Gopichand Malineni. The film is produced by the makers of Pushpa 2; Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory.
Hooda will also soon start shooting for filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj’s next, which stars Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri.
