YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as 'BeerBiceps', influencer Apoorva Mukhija aka ‘Rebel Kid’, and comedian Samay Raina have been booked for their comments during the online comedy show India's Got Latent.

A complaint was filed with Mumbai Commissioner Vivek Phalsankar and Maharashtra Women's Commission against the three social media personalities—along with the show's organisers—for derogatory and abusive language.

On Raina's show, India's Got Latent, Allahbadia was seen asking a contestant, "Would you rather watch your parents have sex for the rest of your life, or would you join in once and stop it forever?" The clip was widely shared on social generating a massive outrage.

Shortly after the complaint, Allahbadia posted a video on X and apologised for his comments, stating that his comment "wasn't just inappropriate, it wasn't even funny."

"Comedy is not my forte, I am just here to say sorry. Many of you asked if this is how I wish to use my platform and obviously that's not true. I am not going to give any justification or reasoning behind whatever happened. I had a lapse in judgment, it wasn't cool on my part."

"The podcast is watched by people of all ages, I don't want to take that responsibility lightly and family is the last thing I would ever disrespect. I need to use this platform better, that has been my learning from this experience. I promise to get better. I have asked the makers to remove the insensitive sections from the video. I am sorry, I hope you can forgive me as a human being," he said in the video.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis commented on the issue and said that though he had not seen the clip yet, "action" against the comedians would be taken if they had broken societal rules.

"I have come to know about it, but I have not seen it yet. Things have been said and presented in a wrong way. Everyone has freedom of speech but our freedom ends when we encroach upon the freedom of others... In our society, we have made some rules, if someone violates them it is absolutely wrong and action should be taken against them," the CM told reporters.

The complaint filed by two Mumbai-based lawyers demanded that the police file an FIR against the trio and asked for the show to be shut down.
