The actor’s note comes days after Aarti Ravi, his estranged wife, wrote about Ravi’s negligence of their children
Popular Tamil actor Ravi Mohan recently made a statement addressing allegations and speculations regarding his separation from his estranged wife Aarti Ravi. Even as the duo are currently navigating their divorce, they have been in the news ever since Ravi announced their separation in September last year.
In an extensive note, Ravi wrote about facing “years of physical, mental, emotional and severe financial abuse” in his partnership with Aarti. The actor also claimed that he was prevented from seeing his two sons, apart from a court-mandated meeting last Christmas. “What breaks me most is seeing my children used as tools in public narrative rooted in financial gain and to sway public sympathy while I’ve been deliberately kept away from them since our separation,” he wrote. Here, the actor was addressing an earlier accusation from Aarti, in which she claimed that her sons were navigating “abandonment.”
In a note on May 9, Aarti detailed her financial and emotional contentions with Ravi. She wrote, “My children are 10 and 14. They deserve security, not shock. Stability, not silence. They are too young to understand legal clauses, but bold enough to feel abandonment. Every answered call, every cancelled meeting, every cold message meant for me, but read by them. These are not oversights. These are wounds.” Her note followed Ravi’s public appearance with singer and therapist Keneeshaa Francis at a celebrity wedding event in Chennai. She further requested the media to avoid calling her Ravi’s “ex wife” until her divorce becomes finalised.
Ravi also addressed his relationship with Keneeshaa in his note, calling her a life support who gave him the courage to “walk away from a life that broke him.” The actor ended the note expressing happiness and gratefulness over his choices in life. Ravi married Aarti in 2009 and shares two sons, Aarav and Ayaan, with his estranged wife. Ravi, who was last seen in Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan series and Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi’s Kadhallikka Neramillai (2025), will next be seen in the fantasy film Genie and Sudha Kongara’s Parasakthi.
