After Shaque: Trust One One, Netflix India has announced their second partnership this year with Parineeti Chopra. The actor essays the lead in Reporting Live, an investigative thriller about a lone reporter taking on the sand-mining mafia.
Directed by Dhruv Tripathi, the film is written by Tripathi and Mihir Jadhav and produced by Partha Kiran Thakur and Joshua Shirsath. The film follows an ambitious young reporter and her experienced cameraman whose pursuit of a promising lead takes them into the world of illegal sand mining. Their investigation brings them up against a ruthless sand mafia determined to keep its criminal operations hidden. As they dig deeper into the racket, their pursuit of the story puts them in increasing danger.
In addition to Chopra, the cast of Reporting Live also features veterans Deven Bhojani, Amol Palekar, Adil Hussain and Shekhar Suman.
Director and co-writer Dhruv Tripathi revealed he's lived with this story for seven years. "I wanted to make a thriller that feels grounded and real, while never losing sight of the ordinary people at the heart of the story. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to make it with a wonderful cast and crew who brought so much to the film, and I’m really excited for audiences around the world to experience it on Netflix.”
Producer Partha Kiran Thakur expanded on the scale and execution of the film.
"We had a clear vision for this film, and it has been incredibly fulfilling to see that vision come to life through such a powerful ensemble," Thakur said. "Bringing together actors from different generations, each a stalwart in their own craft, was one of the most exciting aspects of the process. We’re particularly thrilled to see Parineeti Chopra and Deven Bhojani come together on screen in a pairing audiences have never seen before, portraying characters that are unlike anything they have played previously.”
Reporting Live will stream on Netflix from October 9, 2026.
