Samantha's 'Maa Inti Bangaaram' Passes ₹78 Crore Worldwide, Crosses Lifetime Total of Anushka Shetty's 'Arundhati'

The Samantha Ruth Prabhu film passes ₹78 crore worldwide in ten days, overtaking the 2009 Anushka Shetty-led film's lifetime collections.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu's Maa Inti Bangaaram has surpassed the lifetime worldwide gross of Anushka Shetty starrer Arundhati (2009), one of the long-standing benchmarks for women-led Telugu films, in its ten-day theatrical run. The film's worldwide gross collection stood at ₹78.71 crore after its tenth day, placing it ahead of Arundhati's approximately ₹70 crore worldwide lifetime total.

The action-family drama, directed by B.V. Nandini Reddy, released in theatres on June 19 and opened with ₹5.15 crore India net on its first day, and jumped to ₹9.5 crore on its third day, seeing a rise in its numbers.

By day ten, the film's India net collection had reached ₹48.25 crore after a total gross collection of ₹78.71 crore.

The film united Reddy with Samantha for the second time, following their hit Telugu fantasy comedy Oh Baby (2019). Written by Raj Nidimoru and Vasanth Maringanti, the June 19 release follows the life of a homemaker (played by Samantha Ruth Prabhu), who is forced to reckon with her action-packed past. Produced by Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Raj Nidimoru, and Himank Duvvuru, the film features Diganth Manchale and Gulshan Devaiah in key roles alongside a supporting cast of Sree Mukhi, Gautami, Anand, Lakshmi, Srinivas Gavireddy, and Manjusha.

At the film's success event, producer Raj Nidimoru announced that a sequel, Maa Inti Bangaaram Part 2, is already in development and is expected to be made within two years, with the same core team returning.
