A still from 'Jack'.

After carving a niche with the quirky Tillu franchise, actor Siddu Jonnalagadda is set to excite fans with Jack, an upcoming action-comedy slated for an April 10 release. Directed by Bommarillu Bhaskar and produced by BVSN Prasad, the film attempts to blend espionage and suspense with Jonnalagadda's trademark humour.

Unveiled on April 3, the trailer for Jack sets the tone for a high-stakes mission led by veteran actor Prakash Raj’s character, who is tasked with eliminating five terrorists across various parts of India. But when Jack, played by Siddu, appears to be pursuing the same targets — questions are raised about his true allegiance.

From adrenaline-pumping action to comic relief, the trailer showcases glimpses of his on-screen chemistry with Vaishnavi Chaitanya. However, the extent of her role — whether confined to romantic support or embedded in the central mission — remains deliberately vague.

For Jonnalagadda, Jack marks a departure from his more flirtatious persona in Tillu and its sequel. Here, he shoulders the expectations of a leading man in an action-heavy narrative, while still adding some moments of levity.

Technically, Jack is shaped by a brisk, tightly edited pace, heightened by Achu Rajamani’s soundtrack and Sricharan Pakala’s compelling background score. At a press interaction following the trailer launch, director Bhaskar hinted at future plans for the franchise. He revealed that scripts for Jack Pro and Jack Pro Max are already in place, though their fate depends on the commercial reception of the first instalment.

By pitching a spy thriller through the lens of humour, Jack aspires to offer something familiar yet fresh—a fast-paced entertainer with a star trying to redefine his image.
