'Single Papa': Kunal Kemmu Headlines New Netflix Comedy Series

In the upcoming series, Kemmu plays Gaurav, a divorced man-child whose impulsive decision to adopt a baby throws his entire family into chaos

Netflix India has announced Single Papa, a family comedy series starring Kunal Kemmu. Set to stream from December 12, the show centres on Gaurav Gehlot (“GG”), a divorced man-child whose impulsive decision to adopt a baby throws his entire family into chaos. Despite his immaturity, GG must navigate fatherhood with both love and confusion. Manoj Pahwa, Ayesha Raza, Prajakta Koli, and others are also featured in the cast.

Created and co-produced by Ishita Moitra and Neeraj Udhwani, Single Papa is directed by Shashank Khaitan, Hitesh Kewalya, and Neeraj Udhwani. Khaitan also serves as showrunner and executive-producer.

According to the makers, Kemmu’s character is “equal parts determined, delightfully disoriented, and taking baby steps from man-child to man.” The show is billed as a “relatable, feel-good family watch, celebrating love, laughter, and a whole lot of drama, desi-style.”

The series, Khaitan said, returns him to his roots of making family-friendly entertainers. The filmmaker best is known for the Badrinath movies starring Varun Dhawan, and recently directed Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari.

"Single Papa is pure fun and all heart, and working with this incredible cast has been an absolute blast. I can’t wait for everyone to dive into the crazy, charming little world we’ve cooked up — complete with an unexpected dad, a whole lot of chaos, and an adorable baby, also the star of the show, who will steal every heart!” Khaitan said.

The series is produced by Aditya Pittie and Samar Khan under Juggernaut Productions.
