SS Rajamouli Calls Shooting 'SSMB29' In Kenya “Most Memorable”


After Kenyan Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia W Mudavadi disclosed that 95 per cent of all the African scenes in S S Rajamouli's Mahesh Babu film will be shot in Kenya, the director called filming in the African country “one of the most memorable moments of his career.”

On X, replying to a post, Rajamouli wrote, “Visiting Kenya has indeed been a beautiful, once-in-a-lifetime experience with its vast landscapes and incredible diversity of wildlife. Filming there has been one of the most memorable moments of my career.”  He added, “I am deeply thankful to the Kenyan government and the locals of Masai Mara, Naivasha, Samburu, and Amboseli for their tremendous support and hospitality throughout our shoot.”

The minister had previously written, “Kenya this past fortnight became the stage for one of the world’s greatest filmmakers, @ssrajamouli, the visionary Indian director, screenwriter, and storyteller whose works have captured the imagination of audiences across continents. Rajamouli, with a career spanning over two decades, is renowned for weaving together powerful narratives, groundbreaking visuals, and deep cultural resonance. His team of 120 crew members chose Kenya after an extensive scouting tour across East Africa, settling on our nation as the primary filming destination where nearly 95% of the African scenes are being shot.”

Meanwhile, late last week, a leaked image had emerged from the sets of the film’s shoot in Kenya. The picture showed Mahesh Babu as he was said to be shooting an action scene. The first look of the film, tentatively titled 'Globe Trotter' will be revealed in November. On August 9, director SS Rajamouli revealed a glimpse of Mahesh Babu’s look, along with an announcement that the "first reveal" from the film would be out in November.

Sharing the poster on Instagram, Mahesh Babu wrote, “Thank you for all the love. I am eagerly awaiting, as you all are, for November 2025 to enjoy the reveal with all of you.” The hashtag "#Globetrotter” was featured on the poster, although it has not been confirmed if that is the title of the film.
