Actors Sunny Deol and Jyotika will take the lead in a new action thriller produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar and filmmaker A.R. Murugadoss. The yet-to-be-titled project will be directed by Balaji Ganesh and is scheduled to go on floors in February, 2026.

This marks the first time Deol and Jyotika are sharing screen space in the film, and also the first collaboration between the trio of Sidhwani, Akhtar and Murugadoss. The film, currently in pre-production, is being positioned as a high-profile action thriller with pan-Indian appeal. Some reports claim that the film is tentatively titled Antony. However, the makers are yet to disclose the title officially.

Sunny Deol is presently stirring up theatres with Border 2, a war drama directed by Anurag Singh and co-starring Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty. The film serves as a standalone sequel to the 1997 hit Border. The film has grossed over ₹250 crore worldwide in its opening weekend.

In its review of Border 2, The Hollywood Reporter India called it 'predictably loud and aggressive', observing, "Some movies use storytelling in service of an ideology, but there are some — like Border 2 — that perhaps employ ideology in service of storytelling. Which is to say that it has no actual stance; it’s prepared to do anything to make a scene look dramatic and cool, even if it’s crossing over to the other side for a second."

Sunny Deol has multiple other projects in various stages of development, including Gabru, Lahore 1947, and a role in the forthcoming Ramayana. Jyotika, a leading figure in Indian cinema, was most recently seen in the Netflix crime drama series Dabba Cartel, about a gang of women running an illicit drug network under the guise of a lunchbox business. The series premiered on Netflix in February, 2025.

Meanwhile, director Balaji Ganesh is stepping into the spotlight after previously assisting A.R. Murugadoss on the Hindi action film Sikandar.
