In his Pongal wishes for fans, actor-filmmaker RJ Balaji said that the festival season would not bring any special update about his upcoming film 

 starring Suriya. He joked about how every festival comes with a new updated poster of a star’s new film, but the poster does not always bring any new information with it. He said the release date announcement of 

 will come out with the launch of the film’s second single, although he did confirm when the second song would be out. 

The first song from the film ‘God Mode’ was out over two months ago, and it has already amassed 31 million views on YouTube. The film was initially hinted at a Pongal release, but was later pushed. It remains to be seen when the film will be released next. He ended his message by saying, “Whenever the movie comes out, I’m sure it will entertain the audience. We have been working very hard for a long time to make sure that happens.” 

The team behind Suriya’s 45th film chose the star’s 50th birthday to release the film’s teaser earlier last year. Directed by RJ Balaji, the teaser promises a full-fledged action drama with a glimpse of the actor playing a lawyer again after his hit OTT release

‘Daldal’ Teaser: Bhumi Pednekar's Psychological Crime Thriller Sets January Premiere

, a Keala court is said to have ordered a criminal complaint against film producer PS Shamnas for perjury. Shamnas is said to have made false statements to get a cheating case registered against Nivin Pauly and Abride Shine (director of 

) in connection with the rights of a film titled 

The same report added that the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court-I, Vaikom, found that Shamnas suppressed facts and made false statements when he claimed there were no pending legal proceedings between him and Nivin Pauly.  This statement is said to have been made in an affidavit Shamnas filed along with his application under Section 175(3) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) in the cheating case.

In July of last year, Nivin Pauly filed a case against producer PS Shamnas for allegedly forging his signature. They were both producers on the sequel, 

, an agreement was signed in March 2023 to co-produce the hit film’s sequel between Pauly, Shamnas and the film’s director Abrid Shine. Pauly’s complaint alleged that producer Shamnas had submitted forged documents to the Film Chamber to claim rights to the film.  If proven, the Film Chamber can issue a ban against Shamnas’ production company. He had earlier filed a complaint against Nivin Pauly, accusing him of transferring the film’s overseas rights without consent, 

In early June, Nivin Pauly had been dragged into another dispute when he left the sets of a movie shoot midway. At the promotional event of his film

A week before its release on January 22nd, the makers of the Malayalam action comedy

The 120-second trailer ends with “Walter” being introduced in what appears to be a stylish first look at a cameo, rumoured to be starring Mammootty.

Allu Arjun's next film will have an exciting Tamil connection. In a fabulous collision of worlds, Tamil filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj will direct the Telugu star's next film. The announcement was made on January 14, marking the occasion of Pongal. "

The video, which features a brief animated sequence of lions and wolves, lets us know of the key crew behind the film. The upcoming movie will start shoot this year, and will have music by Lokesh Kanagaraj's frequent collaborator Anirudh Ravichander. The film will be produced by Naveen Yerneni and V Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers. 

Allu Arjun's next film will be with Tamil filmmaker Atlee. Touted to be a sci-fi actioner, the film also co-stars Deepika Padukone. 

This will be the first time Atlee is teaming up with Allu Arjun, who tasted pan-India success with his 2024 historic blockbuster 

Directed by Sukumar, the film released last December and grossed over ₹1,830 crore globally. Atlee last directed superstar Shah Rukh Khan-led 

, the 2023 action blockbuster that marked the filmmaker's Hindi debut.
