A fortnight after releasing the patriotic track ‘Jai Hind’, Salman Khan has put out a second song from his upcoming film Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace. Titled 'Teri Sexy Beauty', the track features the actor opposite Chitrangda Singh and dropped in the early hours of Wednesday, 4 November. Khan shared the social on social media with a caption built around a 5:12 am flight departure, a reference to the song’s lyrics, as promotion ahead of the film’s still-unconfirmed theatrical date.
In the caption, the actor wrote that the flight was on time, two pegs were down and he was taking off with his “sexy beauty”, adding that he had no idea where he would land. The lyrics follow a man taken with a woman’s looks, using an aircraft taking off after a couple of drinks as the central image. The YouTube description calls the song a mix of “love, masti and a little madness”.
The tone sits well away from the film’s subject. Maatrubhumi is reportedly inspired by the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops, with Salman playing an Army officer and Chitrangda playing his wife. ‘Jai Hind’, another musical track, released on 20 October to coincide with Dussehra, was closer to the mood of the material, while ‘Teri Sexy Beauty‘ is a flirtatious, drink-fuelled number. The makers have not said where the song sits in the film’s story.
Salman and Muskaan lend vocals to ‘Teri Sexy Beauty’, with additional vocals by Sajid Khan, who also composed the music and wrote the lyrics. Caesar Gonsalves choreographed the song.
Presented by Salman Khan Films, the film is directed by Apoorva Lakhia and produced by Salma Khan. The project was earlier titled Battle of Galwan but reportedly underwent changes and reshoots over concerns about how China was portrayed. The film has reportedly received a No Objection Certificate from the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, while Central Board of Film Certification clearance is awaited. November 13 has been mentioned in some reports as a possible release date, but the makers have not officially announced one.
