On Monday evening, superstar Shah Rukh Khan was on dad duty. The actor attended the Netflix slate announcement of 2025 and launched the first visual unit of his son Aryan Khan's directorial debut, The Ba***ds of Bollywood.

The series is produced by Gauri Khan through Red Chillies Entertainment, with Aryan serving as the creator and director.

"I am happy that Aryan's first show will be on Netflix. He and his team have worked hard for years on this and hard work bears fruits when the audience is entertained," Shah Rukh said as he made a rare media appearance.

"Now that all of us in the family are here (in the film industry), it is our duty to entertain you. My only prayer is that my son, who's taking his first step in direction, my daughter (Suhana Khan), who is becoming an actress, if the world gives them 50 percent of the love that they have given me, it will be a lot," he added. Suhana made her acting debut with The Archies in 2023.

"But COVID happened, so he came back and started writing with his team. All of them sat down and they weren't sure if to make it as a film or a series. But I felt the characters of this show were so beautiful that it would be better to say it in a longer format, in seven to eight episodes."

The actor mentioned how his children, who have had their "upbringing" in Hindi cinema, studied abroad, and lived in dorms and frats which is reflected in the series.

"The show is made by combining both these experiences, a show about what happens with people when they come to Mumbai. It's not just the good or ugly or the worst or the best. It's the Ba***ds of Bollywood," he added.

With Bonnie Jain and Akshat Verma attached as executive producers, the series is co-created by Bilal Siddiqi and Manav Chauhan, who also serve as writers along with Aryan.
