What would have otherwise been a quiet Hyderabad morning suddenly erupted with chants of “Rajulake Raju” and “Jai Prabhas” as fans geared up for the unveiling of a 40-foot-long cutout of Prabhas at The Raja Saab teaser launch.
With posters, cutouts, merchandise and their love for Prabhas on full display, fans made their way to the Prasad IMAX in the city, where the teaser was shown five times. The Telugu film, directed by Maruthi, revolves around a haunted house filled with treasures, a property that Sanjay Dutt's character has his eyes and claws on. "Even after my death, only I will get to enjoy this house and its wealth," Dutt says in the trailer's voiceover.
At the teaser launch, filmmaker Maruthi said that he wanted Indians to experience something different with the film. “I want to prove that we can make a Walt Disney film in India too. I want them to experience that. Prabhas has always done comedy. He has a different kind of timing when doing comedy, and that’s why I want to show it to all of India. He’s purely a director's actor.”
Backed by People Media Factory, the film is produced by T.G. Vishwa Prasad. The Raja Saab has cinematography by Karthik Palani and music by Thaman S. Its cast includes Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Ridhi Kumar.

Days before the teaser, portions of the video were leaked on the internet. But the makers quickly intervened. "Strict action will be taken and handles will be suspended immediately if any leaked content from #TheRajaSaab is found…. We request everyone to cooperate and stand with us in protecting the experience…. Let’s celebrate responsibly. Be aware," the film's official handle on X wrote.
The film is also touted to mark Prabhas' first horror title, and will be released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages. Prabhas will next be seen in Vishnu Manchu's Kannappa and Sandeep Vanga Reddy's Spirit.
