Actor Tiger Shroff, who narrowly escaped an assassination attempt on October 18, met the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde, at his residence. The actor appeared with bandages following the shooting, which injured two people, including his driver.
Condemning the attack on Shroff, Shinde said, “Tiger Shroff’s vehicle was targeted. This incident is deeply concerning and condemnable; I condemn it in the strongest possible terms. I have spoken with the Police Commissioner and Tiger Shroff. The Mumbai Police Commissioner has formed several teams to track down those who opened fire. Our current priority is to keep Mumbai and its citizens safe."
Actor Tiger Shroff escaped unharmed after three men on a motorcycle opened fire in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sunday (October 18) evening, injuring his driver. Shroff was reportedly leaving a football ground when the shooting occurred.
Shortly after the incident, a video surfaced online featuring a man who identified himself as Anil Pandit and claimed to represent the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. In the video, he alleged that Shroff had been targeted because he had “not been heeding directions” and was “working with Salman Khan," as reported by NDTV. Bishnoi, who is currently jailed in Gujarat, has issued repeated threats against Salman Khan.
Reports suggest that the Mumbai police have detained one suspect. Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, on the morning of October 19, noted that specific individuals were already identified.
"These people will be arrested very soon. Furthermore, we will track down their masterminds who remain in hiding and issue orders from afar. It is important to note that none of these individuals operate from within Maharashtra; those who do operate from within the state have already been arrested. These perpetrators are operating from outside Maharashtra, or even from outside the country. By coordinating with the states from which they operate, and with the assistance of the Central Government regarding those operating from abroad, we will track them down and take strict action against them. I reiterate: these are cowardly individuals. They attempt to strike from the shadows, but their efforts will be thwarted," he said, addressing the press.
Since news of the shooting broke out, a video has been doing the rounds on the internet, appearing to capture at least four gunshots. A latest video also shows Shroff quickly taking over the driver's seat to take his injured driver to the hospital, with concerned citizens around the scene, shouting, “Please take him fast. Tiger. Go fast, go fast, brother.”
Shroff's driver, Firdaus, is currently receiving treatment at a Mumbai hospital.
