On Sunday, July 6, actor Tini Tom apologised on social media for his comment on Malayalam superstar Prem Nazir. He clarified his comment, which he explained was taken out of context. The actor has come under fire for saying that Prem Nazir was struggling for work in his final years.

Tini Tom said that he did not mean to insult Prem Nazir and simply stated something he had heard from a senior actor. He added that this senior actor was now denying the claim and that he shouldn’t have repeated the same. In an earlier interview, he had said that Prem Nazir was heartbroken in his final years for not getting acting opportunities in Malayalam. He also said that Prem Nazir used to visit the homes of fellow actors Adoor Bhasi and Bahadur to complain about his plight.

Similarly, actor Manianpilla Raju was vocal about his dissatisfaction towards Tini Tom’s statement. In a YouTube chat, he told the host that Tini wasn’t even in touch with Prem Nazir during the legendary actor's final days and that he hadn’t even entered the movie industry then. He also went ahead and called Tini crazy for his statement and asked him to apologise.
