Tovino Thomas-Starrer 'Pallichattambi' To Be Released On April 9
The film is being directed by Dijo Jose Antony, who had made the superhit Prithviraj film 'Jana Gana Mana'
Actor Tovino Thomas’ first mass outing of the year, Pallichattambi, will be released this summer on April 9. It is being directed by Dijo Jose Antony, director of hits such as Queen and Jana Gana Mana. He had also directed 2024’s Malayali From India, which received mixed reports. Pallichattambi is being written by S Suresh Babu, writer of several hits such as Shikkar, Dada Sahib and Oruthee. It is also Dijo Jose Antony’s first film, which was not written by his regular collaborator Sharis Muhammad. He had written last year’s hit comedy, Prince and Family.
What adds to the intrigue of Pallichattambi’s release is that it will hit screens just a week after two high-profile sequels, Mohanlal’s Drishyam 3 and Vaazha 2: Biopic Of A Billion Bros. These three will be the films lined up for the Vishu holiday season of 2026.
The title announcement of the film features a motion poster that ends with the reveal of Tovino’s look in the film, as the man stands right in front of a church. The full title of Pallichattambi includes the phrase, The Origin, suggesting that the film could lead to a second part later on. Dijo’s Jana Gana Mana, too, was planned like a two-parter. The film's score is composed by Jakes Bejoy. Other technicians of the film include DOP Tijo Tomy, with Sreejith Sarang as the editor. It is produced by Noufal and Brijesh, apart from CCC Brothers.
Tovino also has Athiradi releasing early this year with Basil Joseph. He was last seen in a cameo in Lokah Chapter One: Chandra. It was also announced that Tovino Thomas and Nazriya Nazim would share the screen in filmmaker Muhsin Parari’s next project, adding to the growing buzz around the upcoming film. Parari, known for writing Virus and Thallumaala, hinted at the upcoming project by sharing a casting call on Instagram, inviting aspiring actors to audition. The film, which is yet to be officially titled, is being written by Parari in collaboration with filmmaker Zakariya, who previously directed Sudani from Nigeria and Halal Love Story.
