Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava has averted clash with Pushpa 2.

The big clash is not happening anymore as the makers of Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava have pushed their epic historical action from its December 6 release to avoid a box office face-off with Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2.

Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films had earlier booked their film for a grand December release on the first Friday of the month, which had no other releases blocked at the time of their announcement. However, when Pushpa 2 was pushed from its original August 15 release date, the Sukumar film zeroed in on the same weekend release as that of Chhaava.

With Pushpa 2 releasing on December 5, Chhaava was set to open a day later. But the makers have now officially pushed the film to February 14 next year, and it will coincide with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti on February 19.

Chhaava is directed by Laxman Utekar, who had previously teamed up with Vicky Kaushal for the 2023 hit Zara Hatke Zara Bachke. Utekar has also helmed films like Kartik Aaryan-starrer Luka Chuppi and Mimi, which bagged Kriti Sanon her maiden National Award. Rashmika Mandanna is the leading lady in Chhaava, whointerestingly also stars in Pushpa 2.

The Allu Arjun film will now enjoy a free run at the box office, with the next big releases arriving only on December 20  Walt Disney's Mufasa: The Lion King and Vetrimaaran's Viduthalai Part 2 — followed by Atlee-backed Baby John, starring Varun Dhawan and Keerthy Suresh on December 25.
