Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna met the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and former Tamil film star C Joseph Vijay at his Chennai residence on October 12. Mandanna, who has worked with Vijay in one of his final few films, Varisu (2023), wrote about the reunion on her social media accounts.
"After such a long time went to meet @actorvijay sir. From fangirling him for longer than I can remember to having the opportunity to work with sir to today admiring him for the Chief Minister he is! His journey is nothing short of incredible! Biggest love and best wishes to you always sir," she wrote.
Deverakonda, who also met the actor for the first time, spoke about sharing personal insights with the popular politician. "Had the most beautiful time with the dearest Thalapathy @actorvijay Sir. Even after a long day he received us with so much love and shared such personal insights into life, work and the world. One meeting and sir is already a favourite. Until next time, My love and respect. Vijay Deverakonda," he wrote.
Mandanna and Deverakonda will notably next be seen in Telugu period action drama Ranabaali.
The film marks Deverakonda's third collaboration with Mythri Movie Makers after Dear Comrade and Kushi, and his third pairing with Mandanna following Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade. It's also the real-life couple's first film release since their wedding earlier this year, adding another layer of anticipation to the rollout.
Ranabaali is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar under Mythri Movie Makers, with T-Series presenting the film. The film is written by Pramod Tammineni, with music by Ajay-Atul, cinematography by Nirav Shah, production design by Shivam Rao Nagasani and editing by Karthika Srinivas R. International action directors Yannick Ben and Andy Long Nguyen have handled the film's action sequences.
