Vijay Deverakonda Reassures Fans After Car Crash Near Hyderabad: ‘All Is Well’
The actor said he was safe and even managed a workout after the incident, joking that biryani and sleep would fix everything
Actor Vijay Deverakonda has reassured fans that he is unharmed following a minor car accident near Hyderabad on Sunday. The Arjun Reddy star took to Instagram to calm growing concern after reports of the mishap surfaced online.
“All is well! Car took a hit, but we are all fine,” Deverakonda wrote on his Instagram story. “Went and did a strength workout as well and just got back home. My head hurts but nothing a biryani and sleep will not fix. So biggest hugs and my love to all of you. Don’t let the news stress you.”
The 35-year-old actor’s message was met with relief from fans, many of whom had flooded social media with worried messages after hearing of the accident. The incident reportedly occurred on the Hyderabad–Bengaluru Highway in Telangana’s Jogulamba Gadwal district while Deverakonda was travelling from Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh, back to Hyderabad.
According to police, Deverakonda’s Lexus LM350h was hit from behind by another vehicle that failed to stop after the collision. The actor’s driver later filed a formal complaint, and an investigation into the hit-and-run has been initiated. Deverakonda, who was unharmed, continued his journey in a friend’s car and reached home safely.
Videos and images purporting to show the damaged vehicle quickly went viral on social media, though authorities have not verified their authenticity.
Just a day before the crash, Deverakonda had visited the Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s Prasanthi Nilayam Ashram in Puttaparthi along with his family. The visit came amid renewed speculation about his relationship with actor Rashmika Mandanna, following reports of a private engagement ceremony held on 3 October, attended by close friends and relatives.
While neither actor has confirmed the engagement, fans were quick to point out a ring on Deverakonda’s finger in photos from the temple visit, fuelling rumours that the two are planning to marry in early 2026.
For now, Deverakonda appears to be focusing on recovery and reassurance.
