On May 28, film producer Naga Vamsi took to his X account to share the release date of his upcoming Suriya-starrer, Vishwanath and Sons. The new poster shared by the producer announced the film’s worldwide release date as August 14 2026. This date comes as a shift from the originally announced July window.

Written and directed by Venky Atluri, the film is produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya. GV Prakash, with whom Atluri has worked on his previous productions, Lucky Bhaskar and Vaathi/Sir is behind the music for this upcoming release. The teaser for the film, which was released on March 16, featured a caption that read, "A story of dreams, emotions and unexpected love unfolds. Presenting the world of Sanjay Vishwanath.” Cinematographer Nimish Ravi and production designer Banglan, who also worked with Atluri on Lucky Bhaskar, have worked on this film.

Based on the teaser, this Tamil-Telugu bilingual release follows Suriya’s character, Sanjay Vishwanath, a shooter representing India in international competitions who travels the world and wins awards for the country. This contrasts with the entry of the female lead, Maddy, played by Mamitha Baiju, who is twenty years younger than him. The teaser hints at Maddy falling in love with Sanjay, with much of the humour stemming from the couple’s age gap and the comedy in Maddy’s obsession with Sanjay.

On the morning of March 2, the first look of the film was released, along with the film’s title,  as a poster depicting Suriya holding a baby against the backdrop of a glass building.
