Explaining the delay in the release of their new film Vrusshabha, the makers of the new Mohanlal movie put out a note on social media, with the tagline, “The Preparations Must Be Grand.” The film is said to be celebration of “emotions, grandeur and destiny. The film was earlier supposed to release on November 6.

Mohanlal took to X to write, “Some stories are more than cinema, they’re legacies. This Christmas, witness that legacy roar to life in #Vrusshabha. A film that celebrates emotion, grandeur, and destiny. Releasing worldwide on 25th December 2025.”

The actor had recently announced on social media, along with a new poster from the movie, featuring him in two different looks. “The ground shakes. The sky burns. Destiny has chosen its warrior. #Vrusshabha arrives on 6th November! #RoarOfVrusshabha #VrusshabhaOn6thNovember," the actor's older post read.

Vrusshabha is jointly produced by Connekkt Media and Balaji Telefilms, in association with Abishek S Vyas Studios, and is written and directed by Nanda Kishore. Kishore has previously directed Kannada films like Victory (2013), Adyaksha (2014), and Kichcha Sudeep, Prakash Raj-starrer Ranna (2015). His latest release was the 2021 action drama Pogaru starring Dhruva Sarja and Rashmika Mandanna.

Mohanlal was recently awarded the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the country's highest cinema honour, for his contributions to Indian cinema. The award was presented to him at the 71st National Film Awards ceremony. He became the youngest winner of the award and the second Malayali, after legend Adoor Gopalakrishnan, to be conferred with the award.

Meanwhile, at the recent success meet of Mohanlal’s thriller Thudarum, the film’s producer M Ranjith took to the stage to official announce a new project in which director Tharun Moorthy will reunite with Mohanlal. Their film was among the biggest hits of all time and the first film to cross the ₹100 crore mark from Kerala theatricals alone.
