Here, he turns his lens to the little-filmed world of competitive table tennis, spinning a fictionalised account inspired by Marty Reisman — the flamboyant, sharp-tongued New Yorker who won five World Table Tennis Championships bronze medals before becoming the sport’s most recognisable showman.

Chalamet plays Marty Mauser, a prodigiously talented but underestimated player, driven as much by style as by victory. His quest for respect propels him through smoky clubs and cramped hotel rooms, into the arms of a Hollywood movie star — played by Gwyneth Paltrow — and onto the volatile circuit of mid-century sports promotion. Alongside Chalamet and Paltrow, the cast features Fran Drescher as Mauser’s acerbic mother, rapper Tyler, the Creator, magician Penn Jillette, Odessa A’zion,

'Avatar: Fire and Ash' Trailer Promises a Visually Stunning Return to Pandora From James Cameron

Ozzy Osbourne, the influential singer and founding member of the pioneering heavy metal band Black Sabbath, has died at the age of 76, his family confirmed on Tuesday.

“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” the family said in a statement. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.” No cause of death has been disclosed.

Osbourne’s death comes just weeks after he reunited with Black Sabbath for a performance in his hometown of Birmingham, England. Billed as “Back to the Beginning,” the concert marked the first time in two decades that Osbourne performed alongside original members Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward. The show was also described as his “final bow.”

Born John Michael Osbourne in Birmingham in 1948, he was the son of a factory worker and a toolmaker. After a brief stint in prison as a teenager, he found musical inspiration in The Beatles and went on to form Black Sabbath in 1968. The band’s debut album was recorded in 1969, and its follow-up, 

 (1970), propelled them to international fame.

Osbourne was known for his theatrical stage presence and infamous antics, including the widely publicised incident of biting the head off a bat during a 1982 concert. Dismissed from Black Sabbath in 1979 due to substance abuse, he launched a solo career that produced 11 studio albums and multiple Grammy wins.

In the early 2000s, Osbourne found renewed fame through the reality television series 

, which offered a candid look at his family life. The show, which aired from 2002 to 2005, won a Primetime Emmy and helped establish his wife Sharon and children Kelly and Jack as public figures in their own right.

Osbourne was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Black Sabbath in 2006. He won three Grammy Awards as a solo artist, including two in 2023 for best rock album and performance.

Top 5 Men: A Bollywood Superstar Earns the Top Spot

If you’re checking out the men’s rankings and thinking “Who is Shah Rukh Khan?” then you’re likely not a Bollywood fan. Among other nicknames, he’s called “King Khan” for appearing in more than 100 films, and he made history at the Met Gala as the first male Bollywood star to attend the event. Khan explained on the carpet that he was invited by Sabyasachi Mukherjee, himself a superstar of India’s fashion industry. Wearing a suit by the designer, Khan also sported one of the night’s perfect dandy accessories, a walking stick, conceptualized by Mukherjee to feature a Bengal tiger in 18-karat gold and embellished with tourmalines, sapphires, old mine-cut and brilliant-cut diamonds. Khan’s own Instagram post to his 47.9 million followers has garnered more than 5.3 million likes and 80,500 replies, all contributing to his first-place finish of $19 million in MIV.

Punjabi actor, singer and producer Diljit Dosanjh took the third position wearing a Prabal Gurung look inspired by royal Sikh attire and earning an MIV of $7.3 million, while Hamilton, Domingo and Bad Bunny, who wore Prada, filled out the top five spots among Met Gala men. Notably, the total among the top five men came in at $48.6 million in MIV, a figure easily eclipsed by the top women, who earned almost twice that number: $86.2 million. Even at an event celebrating dandyism and tailoring, women on red carpets continue to dominate the conversation and earned engagement.

Quantity plays a significant role in jewelers’ placements in the Power Rankings. Cartier provided its gold and diamond designs to 17 stars, including Halle Berry, Rihanna, 

, Bad Bunny, Jon Batiste and Ayo Edebiri, while Tiffany & Co. bejeweled almost the same number of stars, a list that featured Pharrell and his wife, Helen, as well as Nick Jonas, Hailey Bieber, Doechii and Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (attending his first Met Gala and wearing Burberry). It’s therefore no surprise that Cartier and Tiffany & Co. likewise ranked closely in their MIV numbers, earning $11.8 million and $10.8 million, respectively.

Bulgari, Swarovski, Chopard and Jacob & Co. occupy subsequent positions on the list, while Boucheron’s appearance reflects the Paris-based jeweler’s continued expansion in the U.S. But the one brand that stands out is Mumbai-based jeweler Golecha, who created a custom necklace to complete Dosanjh’s look. The decision paid off with $2.8 million in earned engagement.

Walking sticks weren’t the only accessories that mattered at an event honoring dandy style. Shoes likewise earned a closer look, with Christian Louboutin garnering the top spot with $1.6 million in MIV, with patent-leather styles including his Aiglon black-and-white spectator loafer worn by Andrew Scott with a Willy Chavarria suit, while his white Aiglissima boot was chosen by Law Roach to pair with his Burberry suit. (The famed “image architect” collaborated with Daniel Lee, the British label’s creative director, to create looks for stars that included Jodie Turner-Smith, Cardi B and Angela Bassett.)

Hats, meanwhile, inspired plenty of conversation, especially those designed by legendary milliner Stephen Jones. Rihanna and Tracee Ellis Ross topped their bespoke designs by Marc Jacobs with custom hats by Jones, while Kim Kardashian finished her leather Chrome Hearts ensemble with a matching fedora also by Jones. The result: $1.4 million in MIV for the celebrated designer. Fellow footwear behemoths Jimmy Choo and Manolo Blahnik finished in third and fifth place, respectively, while the appearance of Nike among the rankings is due to one arrival: George Lucas, who earned multiple Met Gala stories for pairing his navy tuxedo with Nike’s Flex Experience RN7 sneakers in black, which once retailed for $60, though sadly are no longer available.

In a statement that could reshape global film distribution, U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday said he would direct a 100% tariff on all movies not produced within the United States. Citing national security concerns and a collapsing domestic film industry, Trump claimed that foreign governments are luring away American filmmakers through aggressive incentives — a practice he argued amounts to "messaging and propaganda."

“The Movie Industry in America is DYING a very fast death,” he posted on Truth Social. “Other Countries are offering all sorts of incentives to draw our filmmakers and studios away... I am authorizing the Department of Commerce, and the United States Trade Representative, to immediately begin the process of instituting a 100% Tariff on any and all Movies coming into our Country that are produced in Foreign Lands.”

The proposal — if enacted — would have vast implications not only for American studios that routinely film overseas for tax rebates or exotic backdrops, but also for foreign film industries that rely on the U.S. box office. Chief among them: India.

Indian cinema, particularly high-budget films in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada, has seen increasing success in the U.S. market. S.S. Rajamouli’s 

, for instance, became a breakout hit in 2022, grossing over $14 million in North America. Franchises like 

 have followed with strong overseas numbers, and theatrical releases in the U.S. are now key components of a film’s international strategy.

However, under Trump’s proposal, most Indian films, which are rarely shot in the U.S., would be subject to the tariff. That means a distributor acquiring a film for $1 million would effectively pay $2 million after taxes, severely impacting profit margins. For many, this would render theatrical release unviable.

Unless there are exemptions or grace periods, this threatens to dry up South Asian theatrical releases almost overnight.

Beyond the rhetoric, implementation remains murky. Films are not physical goods but intangible intellectual property. For tariffs to apply, the U.S. government would need to define what qualifies as a “foreign” film — based on shooting location, financing, ownership, or creative control — and determine how to value such an asset for taxation.

Hollywood itself could face collateral damage. High-profile blockbusters such as 

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning

 (produced in New Zealand) could be penalised. Studios often choose overseas locations not just for rebates but for storytelling purposes and cost-efficiency.

Trump, speaking with C-SPAN, also took aim at California Governor Gavin Newsom, blaming his administration for allowing the entertainment industry to erode. 

The Motion Picture Association has not yet issued a response. Industry leaders in the U.S. and abroad are bracing for clarification on whether existing projects would be grandfathered in and how enforcement might look.

In India, many are hoping the idea won’t progress beyond campaign-season posturing. But if it does, it could jeopardise one of Indian cinema’s fastest-growing markets.

As Trump continues to promote protectionist economic policies, the fate of global film culture may find itself caught in the crossfire.
