ACTORS

Actor Regena Cassandrra, known for her roles in Tamil films such as Vidaamuyarchi (2025), Telugu ones such as Awe (2018) and Hindi series’ including Rocket Boys (2022) finds that personal style must keep up with the demands of her profession — but comfort remains king.

“What I wear depends entirely on how early or late I wake up,” she says. “If I’ve slept in, I get ready in five minutes. But if I wake up on time and squeeze in a workout, then I take time to decide what I want to wear.” Her everyday look? “Loose linen pants with crop tops, T-shirts, and shorts — it’s all about how I feel that day.”

A real-life Carrie Bradshaw, Cassandrra confesses to owning over 120 pairs of shoes. “Shoes take up most of my wardrobe — it spills into my room,” she laughs. From juttis by Fizzy Goblet to her go-to Birkenstocks during the Mumbai monsoon, footwear is both expression and necessity. She gravitates toward sustainable clothing brands like Ozis, and while she doesn’t chase labels, her growing watch collection — including a Cartier Panthère and an Omega — is now her most prized fashion treasure.

“I’m not very materialistic,” she says, “but watches have a special place.” Her style? “Cazh [casual] — but I dress for the occasion. Work requires dressing up, so on regular days I like to keep it chill, but still chic.”

Much like her, the rising Param Sundari (2025) star Siddhartha Shankar keeps his wardrobe rooted in comfort, sneaker culture and hip-hop aesthetics.

“I love wearing shirts or T-shirts, baggy pants, and sneakers — always sneakers,” he says. For Shankar, sneakers are more than a fashion statement; they’re a cultural one. “They’re tied to hip-hop, basketball and streetwear. I’ve always admired the stories behind each pair.” His favourites? Jordans and Yeezys, especially the ones with sentimental value.

Shankar isn’t big on trends but values clothes that feel good and fit the vibe of the day. Accessories are kept minimal — usually just a well-chosen watch. “I always dress for the occasion,” he says.

DIRECTORS

Filmmaker, writer and showrunner Mozez Singh, who is known for Human (2022), Zubaan (2015) and Yo Yo Honey Singh: Famous (2024) lives by his styling mantra: eclectic, adventurous and cool.

“Light fabrics, roomy fits — nothing too clingy or structured,” he says. Singh prefers wide-legged pants from brands like Maharishi and Abraham & Thakore, along with a rotating collection of plain cotton shirts and T-shirts. “I collect T-shirts — I have hundreds!”

His footwear? No dress shoes, no brogues. “Only three types: Sneakers for comfort, boots for sharpness, and flip-flops for ease.”

His most cherished piece is a vintage lurex Madras-check button-down shirt he thrifted in Boston during college. “It still fits like a glove,” he says. And jewellery is non-negotiable — earrings, bracelets, and necklaces are part of his daily wear. “I never wear rings, but I feel bare without jewellery. I believe in the totemic power of gems.”

PRODUCERS

Producer Aishwarya Sonar, founder of Lambe Log Productions, is building a new visual grammar for indie cinema — and her personal style is just as intentional.

“On set, I definitely have a bit of a uniform,” she says. “My Jodi black shirt, linen pants, and my Blundstones. That’s my go-to.” For meetings, she lets the mood dictate the outfit. “I don’t wear make-up day-to-day, so my self-expression really comes through clothes.”

Her favourite shoes are her Onitsuka Derbys: “So comfortable and so versatile. Perfect for day to night — and I’m known for wearing them with mismatched socks,” she laughs. Two pieces she treasures most are her Doh Tak Keh blazer and Mati heart jacket, and when it comes to accessories, she loves silver and gold layers — especially rings and bangles. “I don’t wear earrings or watches much,” she says.

Sonar describes her style as “androgynous at heart” and inspired by patterns, oversized silhouettes, and soft, free-flowing fabrics. “It lies somewhere between millennial and Gen Z, grounded in my culture.”

For her upcoming film Yakshi, Sonar helped shape each character’s wardrobe to reflect their emotional core. “Babil Khan’s look is all breathable linens — practical and functional. Anna Ben wears cotton saris — grounded and rooted. With Priyanka Bose’s character, her personal style is unapologetically badass, but her on-screen look is pared down and serious. That’s all I can say for now.”
