To celebrate the diversity and depth of Indian storytelling, The Hollywood Reporter India is set to host The Honours, a new initiative recognising excellence in Indian cinema across film and streaming in 2025. The Honours is an RPSG Lifestyle Media property powered by The Hollywood Reporter India, a celebration of excellence in storytelling, across films and series, languages and geographies.
Curated by THR India’s editorial team and led by editor Anupama Chopra, the initiative aims to spotlight outstanding work across languages, formats and geographies, from mainstream hits to indie standouts. The exclusive event will take place on February 18 in Mumbai and will be attended by the biggest names in the Indian entertainment industry.
The in-depth selection process for The Honours spanned over six months, during which the editorial team watched, re-watched and debated a wide range of titles. The focus is on identifying work that represents the finest achievements in Indian entertainment over the past year.
Ruchira Jaitly, CMO, Diageo India, added, “At Johnnie Walker, we believe in the multi-hyphenated individual who is approaching the world on their own terms with their unique perspectives and interests - shaped by personal purpose, creativity, and the desire to move forward in a unique fashion. ‘The Honours’ Powered by The Hollywood Reporter India (A RPSG Lifestyle Media Property; An RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group Company) beautifully mirrors this belief, celebrating those who are redefining success and shaping culture through their unique journeys. Together, with THR India, we’re proud to recognize individuals whose personal stories of progress inspire others to keep dreaming, keep creating, and Keep Walking.”
A distinguishing feature of The Honours is its emphasis on teams rather than individuals. The awards recognise filmmaking and series creation as collaborative enterprises involving writers, directors, actors and technicians. At the ceremony, scheduled for February 18, artists and crew members from each winning film and series will take the stage together.
In 2025, Indian cinema expanded in scale and ambition, achieving both global recognition and box-office acclaim. The year witnessed a blending of theatrical and digital platforms being home to pathbreaking stories across languages. Through The Honours, The Hollywood Reporter India seeks to celebrate this breadth and vitality, recognising the collective effort behind storytelling.
Further details about the participants and winners will be revealed soon.
