Telusu Kada Movie Review | Kairam Vaashi | THR India
In this review, film critic Kairam Vaashi examines "Telusu Kada," the directorial debut of Neeraja Kona, who brings her background as a costume designer and lyricist to create a visually aesthetic drama. The film explores a complex love triangle featuring Siddu Jonnalagadda as Varun, a chef seeking a complete family, along with Srinidhi Shetty as Raga and Raashi Khanna as Anjali. Kairam notes how the story transforms from a typical love story into a "love you two" narrative that questions conventional relationship dynamics, keeping viewers guessing through its fresh character interplay while exploring themes of love, revenge, and ego.
While praising the film's breezy first half, stylish visuals by Gnana Shekar, and especially Thaman's outstanding background score and songs like "Mallika Gandha" and "Sogasu Chudatharama," Kairam critiques the second half's execution. He finds the characters' shifting motivations distancing, particularly when Varun begins manipulating the two women in his life. Despite strong performances from Siddu, Srinidhi, and Raashi, along with a standout role by veteran Annapurna, Kairam feels the film prioritizes presenting its unconventional idea over emotional depth, ultimately taking a convenient route that turns an egoistic man-child into a hero. He concludes that while this out-of-syllabus conflict gets underserved by an in-the-syllabus treatment, it marks a promising directorial debut for Neeraja.
