Tamil actors Ashok Selvan and Preity Mukhundhan's upcoming project has been titled Anbil Avan. Named after the popular Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa song, the film promises to be an intense romance.
Directed by R Kaarthikeyan, the film will have music by Govind Vasantha and be based on a story by Por Thozhil filmmaker Vignesh Raja and a screenplay by Vignesh Raja, R Kaarthikeyan, and Ashok Selvan. It's scheduled for a September release. Its title teaser shows the pair registering their marriage in a warm moment.
Ashok Selvan was last seen in a small role in Thug Life (2025), while Mukhundhan was seen in two releases this year: Idhayam Murali and Blast. In an earlier interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, the actress spoke about the changing media landscape that actors have to navigate today.
"The media landscape is such that anyone can come in; I’ve understood now what it is to position your brand as an actor, as you’re constantly putting yourself out there for people to judge and perceive you,” she said.
She further noted that she looks forward to holding on to her authenticity with her upcoming projects. “The one thing I strongly want to hold onto is my sense of authenticity; in the middle of all this madness, I don’t want to lose sight of who I really am.. I keep reminding myself of that. I want to take decisions as myself, and not be peer-pressured into strategically thinking what would make me more famous or what would be the common route to take. During this whole acting journey, I’m also going to be building myself as a person, and I hope I take my time to figure that out."
