Anurag Kashyap joins Chiranjeevi's Kaaka in a pivotal role, marking his return to Telugu cinema. Directed by Bobby Kolli, the high-voltage entertainer is set for a Sankranti 2027 release, featuring a star-studded cast and music by Thaman S.
After directing Bobby Deol in Bandar and making his acting debut in Telugu cinema in Dacoit – A Love Story, the year-end brings more exciting news for Anurag Kashyap. The actor-director is now back in front of the camera in Bobby Kolli's action-drama Kaaka, which is fronted by Chiranjeevi.
Yesterday, Kolli made the announcement through a post on X, welcoming Kashyap to the cast of Kaaka in a pivotal role.
The post read: "Some characters are meant to leave a lasting impact. Delighted to welcome the POWERHOUSE @anuragkashyap72 garu on board #Kaaka for a pivotal role. His presence is sure to add another intense layer to this high-voltage entertainer. Worldwide Grand Release on January 13th, 2027."
A glimpse from the film was released in August this year. In Kaaka, Chiranjeevi will play the role of K Satyam, the supervisor of an aquaculture factory primarily engaged in shrimp farming. The video also revealed his vast set of guns, an armed Satyam, and a silhoutte of a shooting, which suggests he is hiding behind a facade.
Alongside Chiranjeevi and Kashyap, the film features actors Anaswara Rajan, Nivetha Pethuraj, Sunil, and Getup Srinu. No further details about Kashyap's character have been revealed by the makers yet.
Kaaka is produced by Venkat K. Narayana under the banner of KVN Productions and features music by Thaman S, cinematography by Vijay Kartik Kannan and editing by Antony Ruben. The screenplay is by Kona Venkat, K. Chakravarthy Reddy, Hari Mohana Krishna and Vineeth Potluri, with dialogue by Bhanu-Nandu.
The film is scheduled for a Sankranti 2027 release.
