Rajinikanth's blockbuster sequel Jailer 2 is set for its global streaming premiere on Prime Video on November 12, following its record-breaking theatrical success. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the film features the superstar reprising his iconic role as Muthuvel Pandian, alongside a stellar cast and Anirudh's electrifying music.
Nelson Dilipkumar and Rajinikanth’s blockbuster sequel, Jailer 2, which just over a week ago became the highest-grossing Tamil film of all time, will now premiere exclusively on Prime Video on November 12.
Directed by Dilipkumar, Jailer 2 sees the Tamil superstar reprise his iconic role as 'Tiger' Muthuvel Pandian — a quiet and kept-to-himself man, living behind the mask of an ordinary car driver.
Opening up about the overwhelming response to Jailer 2, Rajinikanth in his role and the film's eventual release on the OTT platform, Dilipkumar said, "The response to Jailer was extraordinary, and the love audiences have shown for Muthuvel Pandian has been one of the most rewarding aspects of this journey. With Jailer 2, we wanted to build on that special connection while taking the story, action, scale, and emotional stakes to an entirely new level."
"Having Rajinikanth sir reprise his iconic role as Muthuvel Pandian, alongside such a formidable ensemble cast, with Anirudh’s music adding its own distinctive energy, made this chapter particularly exciting for us. Following the film’s spectacular theatrical response, we’re delighted to bring Jailer 2 to Prime Video, where it will join Jailer, taking both chapters of Muthuvel Pandian’s story to audiences in India and across the world,” he added.
Dilipkumar's actioner also starred a spectacular ensemble cast, including SJ Suryah, Shivarajkumar, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Mithun Chakraborty, Vidya Balan, Ramyakrishnan, Namo Narayana, and Yogi Babu, with special appearances by Mohanlal, Hrithik Roshan and Vijay Sethupathi.
Upon releasing on Prime Video, Jailer 2 will be available to stream in India and across more than 240 countries and territories worldwide in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada.
