Nayanthara and Kavin’s Tamil romance Hi is set to hit theatres on August 14, with a rain-soaked first-meet teaser hinting at a tender neighbourly love story. The film is directed by lyricist-turned-filmmaker Vishnu Edavan.
Tamil actors Nayanthara and Kavin's upcoming Tamil film Hi will be released on August 14. The makers of the film announced the news with a brief promotional video, which features the two characters, perhaps meeting for the first time, in the rain.
The earlier released posters of the film showed the two actors as possible neighbours, shot against the background of an apartment. The film's cinematography will be handled by Rajesh Shukla, editing by Lokesh Kanagaraj's frequent collaborator Philomin Raj, music by Jen Martin, and art and stunt direction by Sekar B and Dinesh Kasi.
Directed by Vishnu Edavan, a popular Tamil film lyricist, the film will have music by Jen Martin.
Nayanthara has another high-profile release in the month of August, which is Yash's Toxic. The makers of Toxic released a video on July 1 highlighting the film's female ensemble, which comprises Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth. The video’s voiceover indicates that the film's female characters are all involved in relationships with Yash, and the final lines suggest a confrontation between the women and Yash. It explains that love is a “beautiful illusion” and hints that the women are “fighting for his scraps of devotion.”
She will also be seen in a film opposite Salman Khan, which recently entered production in Mumbai. The as-yet untitled film, directed by Vamshi Paidipally, is pegged as a large-scale action entertainer, and will be Salman's follow-up to Maatrubhumi, which is currently awaiting release.
While plot and technical details are sparse, this is the first time Salman and Nayanthara are working together on a project. The upcoming film is produced by ace Telugu producer Dil Raju under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations. Shirish and Kuldeep Rathod are serving as producers and Rafi Kazi is attached as co-producer.
Kavin, on the other hand, was last seen in Tamil fantasy comedy Kiss and thriller Mask, both films released in 2025.
