Exclusive | Salman Khan's Film With Raj and DK To Go On Floors Soon

Popular director duo Raj and DK's next film will star Salman Khan, and it will go on floors soon, The Hollywood Reporter India has exclusively learnt. "Scripting work on the film is complete, and it is currently in its prepping stages," a source close to the film told us.

"The film will be announced and will go on floors soon," the source reveals, adding that it might be launched later this year.

The upcoming Hindi feature will mark Raj and DK's return to the big screen following their 2017 film A Gentleman. The duo, who are known for their impressive oeuvre of streaming creations, including The Family Man (2019 to present), Farzi (2023), and Guns & Gulaabs (2023), will be jumping back into the feature-film space with the anticipated project.

While details about the project aren't officially confirmed or announced yet, earlier reports suggested that the Salman Khan film will be a superhero feature, exploring a weary crime-fighter looking to retire.

While the duo's last project together was The Family Man 3, Raj Nidimoru recently co-wrote, created and co-produced Samantha Ruth Prabhu's Maa Inti Bangaaram, which went on to become a box office success. The film raked in more than ₹70 crore at the global box office.

Maa Inti Bangaaram united Nandini Reddy with Samantha following their hit Telugu fantasy comedy Oh Baby (2019). Written by Raj Nidimoru and Vasanth Maringanti, the June 19 release followed the life of a homemaker (played by Samantha Ruth Prabhu), who is forced to reckon with her action-packed past. Produced by Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Raj Nidimoru, and Himank Duvvuru, the film also featured Diganth Manchale and Gulshan Devaiah in key roles alongside a supporting cast of Sree Mukhi, Gautami, Anand, Lakshmi, Srinivas Gavireddy, and Manjusha.

Meanwhile, Salman Khan, who was last seen in the 2025 film Sikandar, will next be seen in Telugu filmmaker Vamshi Paidipally's film alongside Nayanthara. The upcoming film is produced by ace Telugu producer Dil Raju under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations, and is scheduled for an Eid 2027 release.
