Prithviraj Sukumaran is often described as a "nobody" in the context of a complicated bank heist that leaves the institution short of ₹17 crore in the teaser of the upcoming Malayalam film I, Nobody. But is he really an innocent nobody?
The film, directed by Nisam Basheer, is produced by Supriya Menon, Mukesh R Mehta, and CV Sarathi. I, Nobody co-stars Parvathy Thiruvothu, Hakkim Shahjahan, Ashokan, VijayaRaghavan, Madhupal, Shankar Ramakrishnan, Nakshathra, Aira, Nishanth Sagar, Nandhu, and Noushad Bombay, among others. Basheer last directed Mammootty in the Malayalam film Rorschach (2022)
Among Prithviraj's upcoming slate of films is SS Rajamouli's Varanasi. Sukumaran debuted his unsettling first-look as the antagonist 'Kumbha' in the film, starring Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. The film is in its final stages, and will mark Rajamouli's followup to the epic success of RRR.
Sukumaran exudes creepy doctor-octopus-meets-Professor-X vibes in the futuristic poster. The actor is seen seated in a nifty wheelchair, manning multiple robotic limbs via a panel. A troop of soldiers and a solitary media van looms in the far distance.
Sukumaran described Kumbha the 'most complex mind' he has ever portrayed. "Presenting KUMBHA..The most complex mind I have ever played… Ready for you @urstrulymahesh It’s game on @priyankachopra Thank you @ssrajamouli sir for crafting a world that constantly tests my limits…"
The looks of Chopra Jonas and Prithviraj Sukumaran were released a few days back as part of the film's promotions. Chopra is Mandakini in the poster, draped in a bright yellow saree, standing precariously on the edge of a cliff while firing a gun—the visual subverts the typical portrayal of commercial film heroines, blending classic style with high-octane action.
Prithviraj will also be seen in upcoming Malayalam film Khalifa. Vysakh's Khalifa marks another collaboration between the director and Prithviraj after Pokkiri Raja (2010). The film is written and produced by Jiinu Abraham Innovation banner, continuing a partnership that includes Kaapa, Adam Joan, and Kaduva. Behind the camera, frequent collaborators handle music and cinematography respectively, ensuring a familiar tonal rhythm and visual texture that fans of Prithviraj’s earlier films will recognise. The film is aiming for an Onam 2026 release.
